Ingredients

Serves 6–8

  • 1 (5–7 lb) prime rib roast, bone-in
  • 3–4 tbsp Southern Drawl Beef Blend Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Fresh rosemary and thyme (optional)

How to Make It

  1. Prepare the roast: Remove roast from refrigerator 1–2 hours before cooking. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Season generously: Rub olive oil all over the roast. Coat evenly with Southern Drawl Beef Blend Seasoning, pressing it into the meat.
  3. Rest & preheat: Let roast rest at room temperature for 30–60 minutes. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  4. Sear: Place roast on a rack in a roasting pan, fat side up. Roast at 450°F for 15 minutes to create a flavorful crust.
  5. Slow roast: Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (163°C). Continue roasting until desired doneness (see guide below).
  6. Rest: Remove roast from oven. Tent with foil and rest for 20–30 minutes before slicing. This keeps it juicy!
  7. Slice & serve: Slice against the grain and serve. Enjoy bold, juicy, Southern flavor in every bite!
