Ingredients
Serves 4
For the Salmon:
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin on or off
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Hot Honey Butter Sauce:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp Southern Drawl Hot Hatch Honey
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
How to Make It
- Prepare the salmon: Pat salmon dry. Brush with olive oil and season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Make the hot honey butter sauce: In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter. Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey & lemon: Stir in Southern Drawl Hot Hatch Honey and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth and combined. Remove from heat.
- Cook the salmon: Grill over medium-high heat (400°F), skin-side down first for 4–5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Glaze the salmon: During the last minute of cooking, brush salmon with the hot honey butter sauce. Let it caramelize slightly.
- Rest: Remove salmon from heat and let rest for 2–3 minutes. This helps keep it juicy.
- Finish & serve: Spoon extra hot honey butter sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
