Grilled Tomahawk Steak

Made with Southern Drawl GPS All-Purpose.
Southern Drawl GPS All-Purpose delivers the perfect balance of herbs and spices to enhance the rich, beefy flavor of tomahawk steak.
Ingredients
- 1 Tomahawk Steak (2 to 2½ lbs), about 2 inches thick
- 3–4 tbsp Southern Drawl GPS All-Purpose Seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- Kosher salt (optional)
- Black pepper (optional)
How to Make It
- Prep the steak: Remove steak from fridge 1 hour before cooking. Pat dry. Brush with olive oil, then generously coat all sides with Southern Drawl GPS Seasoning. Let rest at room temperature.
- Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill to high heat (450–500°F). Clean and oil the grates well.
- Sear the steak: Place steak on the grill and sear for 3–4 minutes per side, until a deep crust forms.
- Indirect heat: Move steak to indirect heat (opposite side of the flames). Close the lid and grill until the internal temp reaches 115°F for medium-rare (about 20–30 minutes, depending on thickness).
- Butter baste: Add butter, garlic, and rosemary to a small pan or directly on the grill. Baste the steak for 2–3 minutes.
- Rest & serve: Remove steak when internal temp reaches 125°F (it will rise to 130°F while resting). Rest for 10–15 minutes, slice and enjoy!
